Express Coffee Colombia is a washed single-origin Colombian arabica from the Juan Tama region of Cauca, with notes of cacao nibs, pineapple, brown sugar, hibiscus, and lemon & lime, fresh roasted to order in small batches by our Michigan roastery in light, medium, or dark roast.

The workhorse of the American cafe industry! Colombian coffee is time-tested and a proven winner for daily drinkers. This medium-bodied, low-acidity coffee will keep you going on those tough Monday mornings all the way through your weekend projects around the house.

The coffee

• Bean: Arabica, Cauca Juan Tama Washed Excelso
• Region: Juan Tama, Cauca, Colombia. The indigenous peoples of the region have formed an organization of small farming communities.
• Process: Washed (removing the coffee beans and washing them in water before drying). This lets the coffee pick up as much of the roasting flavors as possible without drowning out its natural flavors.

Tasting notes

Cacao nibs, pineapple, brown sugar, hibiscus, and lemon & lime. We suggest drinking this coffee at any roast level you enjoy!

• Light roast: Brings the brighter notes forward: pineapple, lemon & lime, and hibiscus, with a lively citric acidity.
• Medium roast: Our all-around best roast for this coffee. A creamier mouthfeel, with cacao nibs and brown sugar up front and a touch of pineapple.
• Dark roast: Extremely smooth, with cacao nibs and brown sugar. No bitterness or burnt flavors! If you've never tried dark roasted coffee, or have been wary of dark roasts, give this one a try.

Roasted on a fluid bed roaster

We roast every batch on a fluid bed (hot-air) roaster, which uses a stream of hot air to roast the beans evenly. This helps minimize bitterness and bring out more of the coffee's natural sweetness. We roast to order, so your coffee is fresh roasted when you order it.

How to brew it

• Light roast: Pour-over shows off the bright pineapple and citrus.
• Medium roast: A great everyday cup in your drip coffee maker or pour-over.
• Dark roast: Smooth and easygoing for drip, espresso, or cold brew.
